It took me three trips to the range before I got the hang of this driver. Now, I love it. 9.5* paired with a Grafalloy Blue X, 46" playing length. Straight and long line-drives.

Head to head with a Taylormade R1
-
I recently bought a used Taylormade R1 driver and also built this Z-55 (10.5) with an inexpensive Grafalloy Prolaunch Blue Stiff shaft and Lamkin Z5 midsize grip. On the range I had more trouble getting used to the R1 than I did this Z-55. On the course, I hit both drivers off the same tee several times and the distance was almost identical, once they ended side by side within 6 feet. The Z-55 obviously does not have the adjustability of the Taylormade (is there a reason why component makers don't offer the adjustable loft/lie hosel like virtually every big-name driver? I can't think it's patented since they're all doing it?)

Very solid performer.

I have built several of these for customers, to only rave reviews. Not sure what happened with the previous rater, but I've seen the exact opposite effect. Very good distance and consistency, when paired with the proper shaft (Spined and FLO'd, of course).

Have the 45 love it can't get near the same distance with this one, using the same shaft and grip. Have been waiting for this head to become available really disappointed.

Details
The Z-Force Z-55 Driver utilizes a thin 360 cup face design that provides a hotter impact area to elevate ball speed across the entire face. A rear weight helps with forgiveness and allows for an optimal launch conditions (high launch and low spin). The Z-55 incorporates streamlined shaping and the crown is designed with “wind splitters” that allow for improved aerodynamics on this 460cc head. This series has a look that gives you confidence over any shot as the “blacked out” color scheme helps to frame the golf ball and looks great in the bag! This is a great driver for golfers looking to improve their game.
