Club hits very well
I made this head with a regular flex mid bend point metal shaft at standard length. It took me a couple of holes to get the setup correct. I have been crushing my drives ever since. I have gained about 20 yards compared to the 1990s Big Bertha I was hitting. I did purchase a 9.5 deg club and the ball does fly a little higher than I would like so if I were to make another I would get a low launch angle shaft (high bend point) to go with it. This club hits very well and I am extreamly pleased. Only item that is wierd is it sounds like a baseball bat. The high pitch ping of an aluminum bat. I made my son the LPT and it has the normal sound. Not an issue though.

Awesome Driver Head
DTG, awesome driver head!! My son and I went out to a range to give my build a test run @ 34 degrees today down here in middle Illinois. I built this driver for him @ Christmas and he has been ready to give it a test run, coupled this head with a FGS shaft and DTG mid grip, shaft cut to stiff with an overall length @ 46 inches. he warmed up and cut loose, being as cold as it was I really didnt think 250 was even possible, all his shots pinged the 275 marker!! I gave it a couple of shots myself and was just amazed, even toe hits were flying straight. I was getting 20 yards longer than my R5. Outstanding Job DTG!!!

Solid performer
After playing a TM R9 for the last season, I wanted to give the Superfast a try but all the TM offerings had noodles for shafts with torque ratings in the 5s and 6s.
I play DT irons already. After seeing the specs on the FGS Ultralite 60 shaft were just what I was looking for, I thought I'd give this head a try. It has kicked the R9 out of my bag permanently as the TM club suffered from the same problems as do most "major" manufacturers: cheap shafts.
With DTG, you get to pick a quality shaft and are not charged a fortune for it.

This combination really works for me. Sound and feel are not perfect, but control AND distance are very close to everything I could ask of this club.

Specs: 9.5*, FGS Ultralight 60 shaft, X-Flex, Winn Dri-Tac grip, 47.75" finished length.

Wow What a club,I love this driver
I've been playing for about 30 years now. Iam 65 and have a handycap of 9 for 18 holes. I switched from stiff flex to reg fex. Iam hitting the ball so much better now with the reg flex.I love this club.

VERY Dissapointed - Large Crack
I purchase one of these about 9 months ago. Yesterday I found a large crack on the bottom of club running along the length of the face. I hit it a few times and was eventually greeted with a loud impact noise from the crack. This club is absolutely useless and you should reconsider before buying one.

Finally ! A driver that has it all.
I've been dealing with Diamond Tour Golf for many many years. I've had the distinct pleasure with working with Dan Peck. I have a small clubmaking business that solely relies on referrals. The componenents offered by Diamond Tour, in my estimation, are second to none. Many of my past clients continue to come back for tweaking andf looking at newer products. It is through them that I get my business. Of course everyone is lookinng for the perfect club. I found mine in the Turner True Speed II driver. Obviously, what I want in any club is different from other players. I like to work the ball. With this club, I found it to be easier to do than with other Turner drivers. Dan and I discussed a couple of different shafts We finally decided to see what the FGS 45 bgram shaft would Do. I put the club in play yesterday. It blew my mind. I'm not, or have never been, a long ball hitter. That goes for the days that I played collegiate golf. I've been known for hitting fairways. Yesterday, I found parfts of the fairway that were previously unknown to me. In other words ,I found my drives not only to be as accurate as ever, but at least, on an average of 20 to 30 yards. I know that when I can have my swing speed checked, it will be considerably faster than it was with previous drivers. Already, I have at least three inquiries about the club. Hopefully, they will be just as pleased with it as I am. Great Job Dan!!!!

Another bomber
This club rips the ball off the tee. Today, I hit EVERY drive right in the fairway. I don't believe I have done that in 40yrs...
It took me about 6 games to get used to it. Improving to near perfection today. In a tournament last Saturday we played my drive most every time.
What makes this so good, IMO, is that the mis-hits are near straight as an arrow. I've hit it all over the face and it goes straight. Maybe not with as much distance if hit off the sweet spot, but straight down the fairway.
One particular feature I like is the face. If you wipe it off each time, the next time you hit it will reveal exactly where the driver hit the ball. That is very helpful in adjusting your swing each time you show up at the course. I'm about a 15 handi and this club has probably accounted for another 1-2 strokes lower per round. There is NOTHING like being in the fairway with a 8 or 9 iron to the green instead of off in the woods chipping back in the fairway.
It just plain made the game easier.

Good luck!

Great driver
I've been a DTG customer almost from the day it started and have built clubs for nearly 30 years.
This is the best driver I've ever hit, and I've been playing golf a LONG time. I put FGS Ultralight 55 shaft in it and it just happened to set up perfectly for me. I may have gained 10 yards with it, and that is important for an old guy (68), but more importantly, I'm hitting just about every fairway. Managed to shoot my age last week. Trust me, the guys in my game have more than paid for it!
BTW, I had a customer who broke a shaft. DTG made it right immediately. Thanks to Jason, Dan and DTG.

dissappointed
Not as good as its predicseeor. Very hard to hid. Long but low ball flight and difficult to control. Does not hit well naturally. Many have tried my club with the same results. Others I have made have been returned because of their poor playability.

Better than the TaylorMade Burner Driver
I have built this with a Proforce V2 Tour Flight Extra Stiff and a 10.5* head and all I can say is WOW. I can't believe that people are getting dupe by the OEM golf companies into paying $300 and $400 for a Driver when they can have a Drive Custom built that performs as good or better than the over-priced OEM Driver. I am a believer. I replaced my 3 wood, 3 hybrid and I am ver satisfied with all my DTG clubs. I will be a customer for life.

Not as good as my previous DT builds
I've had 5 DT drivers and one set of irons. They have all been very nice. This one, unfortunately, has been disappointing.

The driver looks great. The weight is as spec'd and it swings nice. However, the sound is discouraging and the feel is very, very poor in my opinion. Much different than all the other DT products I have.

Great bang for the buck
I am big on saving, so when I compare this club to leading manufacturers weight specs and price this club takes the cake for me. Just from what I looked up, the big names out there are using a swing weight rating which I don't really enjoy, I would rather have each components weight for direct comparison. But I would say this club compares considerably with a $300+ club.

I have changed my grip from a baseball style to have the shaft angle along my fingers and didn't cut anything off the graffalloy shaft that I am using on it, which I think was the prolite elite if I remember correctly, but I am hitting the net at my local driving range whereas before I would barley be able to roll up to the net and that was on a Calloway C4 which I really enjoyed.

I had a couple shots on the range where the ball hit the white paint and scratched it up a bit but I think that wear would be comparable on the original of this club.

The sound this thing makes when you hit the sweet spot I would say is enough to require hearing protection but that is a price I am willing to pay when I have been crushing it like I have been.

Nice driver!
Built up a 12 degree head for a friend. When I opened the box I was impressed by the quality of the paint and graphics on the big white head. Head weight was right as advertised. Performance using the Grafalloy Platinum senior shaft has been great. My friend is very satisfied with the driver. Hits high, straight and long. I highly recommend this driver head.
