I have always been unsure about a clone wood, so I finally purchased a 5 wood head and matched it he a project x 6.0 and UST grip. I lucked out a little in that my swing weight ended being dead on!
This is now one of the most dependable clubs in my bag, and when things get tight and I have to hit a fairway, this is the club I now lean on.
The distance is not huge improvement, but I will admit, I have caught a few balls that I said wow I can't believe it went that far.
The playability is probably on me, I really think I should be hitting a 6.5 or 7.0 if I wanted to be working the ball a little more, there is still a little more torque in this shaft than I really care for.
Oh and this club looks great!!!!!! Paired with that Project X shaft, they were made for one another.

This was the first wood that I assembled. Matched this with a "Booyah" stiff flex shaft and the DTG Tour grip, 2 layers of tape because I prefer a more substantial feeling in the grip. This club went together quickly and easily and after sitting overnight I took it to the range this morning. The feel is excellent, I could pretty easily work shots left and right but it's tendency is just for a nice straight, high launch trajectory. Carry on this was about 215 to 225, my old Nike 3 wood carry was 200 to 210 on average so I am very happy with the performance.
