What is Swing Weight?
Swing weight is the relationship between the head weight, shaft and grip weight measured from the butt end around a 14” fulcrum. When choosing a swingweight, there really is no right or wrong answer. Swingweight is a function of feel. The only thing we suggest is to use the lightest swingweight that you’re comfortable with. Don’t confuse swingweight with total weight. You could have a club that weights 500lbs but swingweights to D-2. As shafts get lighter swingweights also tend to decrease. At the same time making clubs longer brings the swingweights back up. Some of the super long drivers (50”+) can get into E and even G swingweights. For most players swingweights in the mid-C to mid-D range is appropriate.
