What is Offset/Face Progression?

Offset is the distance from the farthest front portion of the hosel to the farthest front portion of the face on its centerline. In iron sets offset will be either consistent (the same in each head in the set), or progressive (changing from more in the long irons to less in the short irons). If the golfer tends to push their iron shots to the right (for right handed golfer), a more offset head could help. The offset will aid in getting the club face squared at impact, thus reducing the push shot.
