I had a 949MC built [w/ 10.5 draw bias head] and UST Proforce V2 shaft 'R' shaft @45". This shaft is just barely stiff enough for my 98 mph swing [rated 90-100]. The head's loft was actually 9.9 deg. This club performs very well. A recent trip to the PGA Club in Port St. Lucie confirmed this. On the Dye course [where I had an unexpectedly great round] I used driver 14 times and was in the short grass 12 times. Once I was deep rough left and once I was in medium rough right. The tweak I thought might be good I included in my 2nd 949MC driver w/ same head. I shafted it with an SK Fiber Lite Rev. I in 'S' flex and hand picked head to 10.6 +/ 0.2; it came with a 10.5. This shaft allows me to get very aggressive and the ball flight is about the same since the SK Lite Rev I shaft yields a slightly lower trajectory. Bottom line: this is a greeat head! And, because it is being discontinued [in favor of the 919THI which has a little more draw bias, slightly higher trajectory and slightly higher MOI], it is cheaper than it used to be. If you like long & straight, this is one to try! ...
