Howdy. Getting set to start building clubs for the first time. There are only 2 questions I haven't been able to figure out and I hope you can help.

The first is the best way to trim the shafts (both graphite and steel). I have a miter saw, is it best to put a cut-off wheel on that saw (something like: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200332111_200332111) to do the cutting? Is there a better, affordable tool for trimming with like a dremmel? What's best?

Also, I am looking at the MOI shafts. They show a butt diameter of .625, but all the grips I have, and have seen are .600. Will they fit or can you point me to grips with a larger core size?

Many thanks!

As far a cutting shafts there are numerous ways to do so. If it's a steel shaft you can either use a pipe cutter or hack saw with a metal blade. If you have the resources a chop saw with abrasive cutting wheel is what every experienced club builder typically uses. These will work for both Steel or graphite shaft.
Otherwise in order to cut graphite shafts without a abrasive cutting wheel you can again use a hack saw or yes a dremel will work just fine. I always recommend when using anything other then a abrasive cutting wheel and cutting graphite shafts that you first put a layer of masking tape over where you are cutting. This will keep the shaft from splintering as you cut it.
As far as the shaft butt diameters and the inside diameter of a grip you have nothing to worry about, the grips will fit just fine over those shafts.
Please feel free to give me a call if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
