Ok, I've gone and done it again Rolling Eyes

Latest order just finished for new clubs, so any day now I'll get a call from FedEx. They must think I'm a nutter...

Anyway, I've just ordered myself a set of Grand Hawk XP-22 Tour Series irons with Dynamic Gold Shafts, so standby for changes to my "what's in the bag" signature plus a full review of what I'm confident will be another class piece of golf equipment.

I probably should point out that I'm in no way affiliated with DTG, but we seem to be so quick to criticize things nowadays, I'm just pretty pleased about finding an online retailer who delivers quality at a quality price.

Full update on the new irons when they get to sunny Cyprus.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to all

Got my new irons today (actually arrived in Cyprus on the 24th) but the local FedEx offices were closed, so got them this morning.

First off, quality. Very, very high indeed. Must admit, the quality of these heads exceeds my expectations. I new the build quality would be good, as DTG do a great job of building clubs, but the quality of the actual heads is very, very impressive.

Haven't played them on the course yet, but had a couple of buckets at the range this afternoon. Longer then my old irons by about 10 yards, but that probably has a lot to do with the difference in shafts (Dynamic Golds vs Harrison Pros).

Very nice high flight, easy to control. The reason I got the XP-22 Tours was to see if the reduced off-set would help with my draw. Pleased to say it has. Can still hit the draw if I need to, square shot has a tiny hint of draw. Also, with these irons I can now hit a fade, which I've been working on for some time now.

Very easy hitting irons. As with most clubs, a smooth swing gets the best results. Slightly thicker top-lines than I'm used to, but if anything, it made me slow down and concentrate on good tempo. These are just very, very easy to hit. Surprising, given reduced off-set, but very easy indeed.

Sometimes you pick a club up and know it's going to be good. Well that's exactly the feeling I had when I opened the box this morning. Once at the range, I had them dialed in after about 10-15 hits with each iron. Very "familiar" feeling irons - even though this was their first outing.

As I said, the quality of these irons is very, very impressive. To anyone put off by the "clone" label, I would say "give it a go". I've been an OEM player (and spender) for years, but no more.

Plan to play these in Saturday's medal, but expect nice things from them, so there's probably going to be a change to my signature below.

Hey Paxton,
I'm sure by now you got your new X22's w/Dynamic Gold. I ordered mine back in Jan and have played a couple times since then. The clubs are very well made and give me the same feel as my old Calloways.
