| I'm trying to see if I can get the Ablaze as close to the TM Burner as possible. It seems the Burner's grip is proprietary, as well as the shaft. Any suggestions regarding similar grips and shafts would be very appreciated. Thanks. |

Having played both these drivers there a couple things to consider when trying to make the Ablaze as close as possible to the Burner. First as far as the club heads, they are so similar that other then the goofy lines Taylor made puts all over the top of there burner you will probably be hard pressed to tell the difference at address. The grip is going to be personal preference the only real difference is that most OEM companies are going to a thinner grip to make it easier for the average golfer to release the club and square up the face. If you wanted to keep it as close as possible I would go to a "lite" grip such as a Golf Pride Dual Durometer Lite. The shaft is your biggest concern when trying to copy the Burner. The Burner hits the ball farther then allot of other drivers because it is stock at 46 inches instead of 45, plus the shaft is an ultralite instead of the normal mid 60's gram shaft. This allows for a longer club that you can swing faster while keeping the swing weight similar to a standard 45 inch driver with a 65 gram shaft. Any shaft under 60 grams preferably, should be a good match if you want it to be 46 inches. The type of shaft is going to depend on the loft, your swing and your desired ball launch. The staff at Diamond Tour has always been helpful for me so maybe then can help you pick out a shaft for your swing.

Buzz,
Thanks for the tips - what a great reply. Looking forward to working with Diamond Tour on getting this club put together. |

I'm very excited. I just ordered the Turner Ablaze (assembled) with the following specs:
Loft = 10.5
Club Length = + 1 1/2
Shaft = FGS Tour Launch 50 Graphite
Flex = Regular
Grip = Lamkin Dual Density Torsion Control
Grip Size = Regular
I cannot wait to receive it and let you know how it hits!

| I too like the Taylor Made Burner Draw. I went to their website. Here are some of the specs. Club weight 299 g, shaft weight 50 g, Club length 46 in. Swing weight D5. I notice the club face is a little more closed than the10.5 clone. It is 2 degrees closed. What shaft would you recommend for head? My swing speed is 89 mph and I have a fast tempo. I want to approximate the Burner Draw as close as possible. Do you know the club head is weighted in the heal for a draw bais? Thanks |

Zeke - if you want a close shaft look at the FGS (Diamond Tour) shafts. I chose the regular flex FGS Tour Launch 50 (50g). If you go stiff flex the FGS Tour Launch 60 would fit the bill. |

That's one of the great things about DTG - the selection.
Plenty of online golf retailers about, but DTG have the best selection of heads, shafts and grips.
PS: hope the new driver works out great. _________________ Integra Quadratic 12 deg, YS6+ Stiff
