The Snake Bite C7 irons have a unique combination of forgiveness with playability. The slightly lower profile head design and full deep-cavity-backed technology offers an enhanced feel and greater moment of inertia. The precision weighting gives golfers superior control under a wide variety of conditions and is perfect for all skill levels.

* Comparable to the Cobra® S9 irons

Is the black painted on the steel topline and inner cavity for cosmetics or is it a rubber/urethane/plastic insert thingy?

CNP3,
Thanks for the question, there is no insert it is all just painted black in the cavity on the back of that iron. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Jeff

thank goodness - not a big fan of inserts, far better ways to "cushion the blow" by getting the shaft selection correct.

I ordered them anyway, insert or not, the heads sit at my front door as I wait for the minutes to pass by! Will report when they're fit for and hit by the intended playee!

will throw the grips on later tonight, but I wanted to give special compliments on QC there, not one head was off by more than a gram, and not one loft/lie was off by more than half a degree.

also the finish is just teriffic on them.

Okay! Assembled them last week for my fiancee, who fell in love with them at first sight. Her previous set, a Wilson ProStaff startup set, was a bit limiting (there's better "help" out there in irons) and she had a major pet peeve with a 5 hybrid, which she could not get comfortable standing over. So picked up these with the SW thrown in, so she could get a set she liked the look of, offered real game improvement, and offered her a 5 iron.

She loves them. Gets similar distance (maybe a hair more, but that's not really the point of irons) but has significantly better control, and handles toe-hits much better.

The only gripe, and it's a minor one, is that when you're standing over the bag, the "S" on the sand wedge and the "5" on the 5 iron are exactly the same letter/number/font/whatever. I mean if you look, it's obvious the longer club is the 5 iron, but a quick glance and the number and letter are indistinguishable.

While we're talking Snake Bite - is the Red Snake Bite Driver the same as the blue with no offset? I didn't see it in the catalog but I do see it on he website.

I am glad the clubs are working for well for your fiance, I will bring the sw/5 iron issue up with the owner and see if we can't get that fixed.
As far as the Snake Bite Driver in red and the Snake bite Driver in Blue, They are the same driver other then the one is offset and the other one is straight. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Jeff
