I have a driver with a 12 degree head and a shaft with a mid/low bend point in it. I hit this club way to high. I was wondering if I change the shaft to a higher bend point if that will bring it down alot and if so, should I get a shaft with a mid/high bend point or a high bend point to put in it. |

High may not be bad. A higher launch may keep a bit straighter & be easier to hit more consistently. Longer in the cabbage may not be as advantageous as shorter & in the short-grass.
But yes, a shaft with a higher kickpoint should bring your ball flight down. Check the sale section on DTG website & also look at the FGS-series shafts. You should be able to find a good value. However, unless you have the equipment to re-shaft yourself, some re-shafts projects can get pretty expensive. You may be able to buy a new assembled club for what it costs to get one reshafted. Good luck. Be sure to let us know how you make out! |

| I really appreciate the advice. Do you have a suggestion as to the bend point to put in? ---- a mid/high or just a high. |

Offduty,
Rob was pretty much spot on with what he suggested that a higher bend point shaft will bring the ball flight down. Another thing to consider is the torque, a lower torque shaft will also keep the ball flight down and keep the ball from ballooning due to too much back spin.
If the ball flight is way too high with the setup you have now then going with a high kick point and low torque shaft should bring the ball flight down a noticeable distance.
Let me know if you have any other questions,
Thanks,
Jeff |
