[Greetings all, just thought I'd say hello from Japan. I'm in the U.S. Navy stationed in Yokosuka, Japan (about 30 miles south of Tokyo). My 3 sons all play golf competitively on the Japanese Junior Golf Association (JJGA) tour. My oldest is 11 and my youngest is 5. I've managed to play several JPGA grade courses (for practice rounds) with my oldest. If anyone was planning a trip to Japan I could certainly point them in the right direction. The news I have is Ishikawa Ryou (16 yr old) megastar golfer here in Japan went pro today with hugh media coverage. This kid won a PGA event last spring and has help golf gain popularity here, especially with juniors. I'm right in the mix with my boys!

Gerry,
Thanks for the great report from Japan. And thanks for serving! I'm going to surf and get some more info on golf there.
Great to hear about your kids playing. I love to go out with my 10 year old, and am looking forward to having her enter some junior tourney's.

John,
Thanks for your thoughts and good luck with your daughter. It was a struggle breaking into the junior circuit -- more commitment than I counted on, but it's now worth it. My wife and I made many friends while waiting in the club house for my son to come in. Enjoy the fun, but be careful of the competition -- it tends to eat people up! LOL
