- Work beautifully for me!
-
I've been using these for nearly 10 years. Love 'em! Unfortunately my stock is now running low, and they seem to be out of stock pretty much everywhere. Shame, really. I don't find them any more difficult to work with (either putting on or taking off) than the solvent variety, but I really like that I can do all of this with just water and a little dish soap.
I hate using solvents.
If anybody's listening, bring these back!Playability Feel Price/Value - Easy and good

Use it since years. Work as good as with solvent.

Tried these out, Followed the instructions perfectly, even tips in the reviews. My assessment: these strips are hot garbage. Luckily I still had enough solvent & strips to finish both my son's junior clubs and my irons. These strips now line the bottom of my workshop trash can.
Playability Feel Price/Value - sliding grips

I've been having a problem with the normal solvent based tape while re-gripping.
When playing the grips have been sliding up on the shaft, sometimes up to a half
inch or more, making the clubs longer and causing some major mishits. I ordered
these water activated ones recently and am giving them a try. They are super easy
to install once you figure it out.
Here is how I install them. I run extremely hot water into my sink with some dish
soap as instructed. I let the grips soak for several minutes as it expands them just
a smidge and allows for easier installation. I pour the sink water onto the grip tape
on the club, remove the grip from the water, use a towel to hold the grip, and then
slide it easily onto the club.
We will see how well they hold the grip in place.
So far am extremely happy with themPrice/Value Playability Feel - Impressive..

First time for me, a clubmaker of 40+ years, to use water-activated. On the advice of a friend, I used a little more dish soap that advised...and it worked like a champ...even on build-ups. Gotta work quick, but clean up is a snap and solvents aren't good for you!!
Price/Value Playability Feel - I prefer water activated over solvent
-
I have been using water activated tape for years. No more VOCs or smell. fill grip with water with the grip plugged on butt end. Wet tape and rub lightly with fingers. Wet tape again then pour out the grip water onto the tape. align the grip. Quickly start grip. Use a push pull action. Push on grip - pull on bottom of grip. Twist to get final aliignment. check length with ruler and adjust. Set aside. Do all of this slightly more quickly than with solvent.
Playability Feel Price/Value - Works, but get it very wet
-
As a first time club builder, after wetting the tape I immediately attempted to put the grip on. Big mistake. You really have to wet these thoroughly with soapy water and even work them a bit with your hands to loosen up the adhesive to allow the grip to slide on. I nearly ruined my first grip, getting it stuck halfway on. Once I figured out how they work, the rest of the grips went on without issue, and I would happily use this on any further clubs that I build or regrip.
